Initial Concealed Carry Course

This 8-hour course meets Colorado state requirements to obtain your concealed handgun permit. The course consists of approximately 6.5 hours of lecture and 1.5 hours of shooting. It covers everything you need to know, including:

  • Basic handgun safety, including home firearms safety and storage
  • Fundamentals of handgun shooting
  • Expert instruction in grip, stance, trigger pull, sight alignment/picture and weapon handling
  • Colorado Concealed Carry and Colorado Use of Force laws
  • State and Federal gun laws
  • How to apply for a permit
  • Concealed carry issues and situational concerns
  • Concealment methods
  • Drawing from concealed carry
  • Interacting with law enforcement
  • Written exam:  (80% passing score)
  • Live fire shooting qualification: (50 rounds with 70% passing score)

Class fee: $200
     

We recommend students bring:

  • Hearing protection (electronic preferred) (We have loaners if you need)
  • Shooting glasses (ANSI Z87 safety rating) (We have loaners if you need)
  • Strong-side Hip Holster that safely holds your handgun and covers the trigger guard
    • (Purse or fanny pack with built-in holster is okay too)
  • At least 150 rounds of ammunition
  • Water/non-alcoholic beverages
  • Lunch/snacks if desired
  • Sunscreen

Refresher Concealed HandgunCourse

This 2-hour course meets Colorado state requirements to renew your concealed handgun permit. The course consists of approximately 1.5 hours of lecture and 1/2 hour of shooting.

  • Review of basic handgun safety, including home firearms safety and storage
  • Review fundamentals of handgun shooting
  • Updates to Colorado Concealed Carry and Colorado Use of Force laws, state and federal gun laws
  • How to apply for a permit
  • Drawing from concealed carry
  • Written exam:  (80% passing score)
  • Live fire shooting qualification: (50 rounds with 70% passing score)
